A suite of Commonwealth, State and Regional policies and strategies which guide investment of monitoring and research within aquatic environments which include: The Murray-Darling Basin Plan, Commonwealth and Victorian environmental watering strategies and plans, The Victorian Government’s Water for Victoria, The Victorian Government’s Victorian Waterway Management Strategy, The Victorian Government’s Biodiversity Strategy - Protecting Victoria’s Environment Biodiversity 2037, The Victorian Government’s Our Catchments Our Communities – Integrated Management in Victoria 2016-19, The Victorian Government’s Target One Million Plan and Victorian and regional waterway and coastal management strategies. These plans and strategies identify priority areas, issues and actions to improve the health of waterways and catchments.
